Well, actually it does, it keeps the spokes nice and tight, and in consequence, the wheel is less flexy. So it lasts longer without having to true it. It's just the the guys who road bike on the Tour De France, they wrap the spoke crossings with a fin metal wire, so it makes it soooo stiff. But that's too extreme, because in downhill you still do want your wheels to flex a bit. Anyways, round up, i've been running my Deemaxes this way for the past 2 seasons in some gnarly super rocky/rooty tech here in Quebec and I haven't trued my wheels once ! So i'm gonna say, for what the zip ties cost, it's more than worth a try ! Smile
